The Depot on the waterfront in Merrickville

The Depot, located at 37 St. John Street on the waterfront adjacent to the Blockhouse in Merrickville, is our Rideau visitor and interpretive centre. It is open in the summer season.

At The Depot, your hosts will be more than happy to provide you with any Rideau information that you may require. We also offer an array of retail items including many books about the Rideau Canal. Proceeds from the sale of these items helps to fund the work of the Friends of the Rideau.

The Depot also offers a wide array of tourist literature for the region and lots of free advice on how you can make your Rideau visit more enjoyable. There is a small theatre in which you can view Parks Canada videos about the Rideau. So, drop by and have a look.

The Depot
The Depot has all sorts of interesting things.

And if you gotta go ... it is reputed that we have the nicest public washroom facility in Merrickville.
